So Let’s Start!
Q.1 - When did you started blogging? What inspired you to create a blog?
I entered blogging about 2 years ago, and also started a blog for fun. I was not aware about the fact that blogs can help us to make money back then. I was just blogging to share what I know. I also worked very often on my blog because of my studies, and finally that blog became a flop. But I didn’t lose my interest for blogging. If I would have lost it then, I wouldn’t have been here today.
As I said that I started blogging just for fun. So I can’t say anything about my inspiration. I was not inspired but was interested. Day by day my interest for blogging increased and I started SkyHiT BloG to do some serious work and enjoy the blogsphere. But it will be wrong if I say that I’ve learned everything by myself. There are many people, like my friends, readers, fellow bloggers and also some top bloggers who always helped me with my queries. I always thank them for their love, support and feedback.
Q.2 - What do you do to get traffic to your blog?
I don’t care about traffic but readers. What’s the use of thousands of visitors who leave your blog just a sec after their landing? What’s the use of those visitors who never engage or pay attention to what you say? So I don’t care about traffic. But, to get readers you’ve to get traffic. So I do the following:
- I engage a lot on social media sites. Then I check my performance on Klout. The social sites bring a lot of visitors to my blog.
- Then, the most important thing on which I work is content. I always try to produce quality post which are interesting and engaging.
- I’m not an SEO expert but I’ve really got some success in ranking a few keywords of mine, which are really doing great and bringing a lot of organic visitors to my blog. I’m still learning SEO by doing some real experiments on my own blog, but not in a demo blog like others do.
Q.3 - What things you do to make revenue from blogging?
Bad part, I’ve still not entered in to money-making fully. I’m still busy in developing my blog. I always believed that if we work very hard and build a great blog then money will simply flow to your bank account. And I was right. Now I’m seeing some good results. My revenue comes from AdSense, Affiliates (not much), Paid Advertisement, Review writing etc.
Q.4 - What milestones are you seeing in the blogging world?
The blogging world is very competitive now, especially in niches like blogging and tech. But for now I don’t have any big planning or targets. Currently I’m busy with my studies and so I’m just trying to play it smooth, but consistently trying to develop my blog and myself. I’m simply competing with myself, and trying to break my own records.
Well, He’s an Android pro! He writes about Technology, Android, Gadgets on his Blog TechBii!
He has a blog that’s only around 5 Months old and his traffic is like ‘Boom’! He gets a lots lots of Traffic. He too have an awesome Social Presence and Engagement! He too have helped me lot many times
So, Here are my questions and his answers!
Q.1 - When and Why You Started Blogging?
Well, this is something interesting. I started my blogging (actually copy pasting) in March 2010. I was browsing some random stuffs through UC browser and saw some featured site links in the homepage. There I could find blogger.com and just created an account on it. But I didn’t know what it was for. Hence let it away. In that time, I was trying some free GPRS hacks and I was active in almost all network hack forums. So, for fun, I started to copy paste those stuffs
to my blogspot blog. Though it was fully loaded with plagiarized contents, Google started to love my blog and ranked well in the niche.
To my surprise, I even got PR 5 for that blog and that was my life changing moment. Being in the blogspot subdomain
(allindiantricks.blogspot.com) , I got awesome opportunities for link selling and ad spaces. Here starts my blogging journey.
Q.2 - What Inspired You To Create Your Blog?
When it comes to my current blog (TechBii.com), actually there had no inspirations at all. I started it for fun (as usual ) and gradually turned out to my main income source. However, those blogs which I refer daily was my inspiration and their personal stories inspired me to blog like hell. That’s all.
Q.3 - What are your Traffic Strategies For Your Blog?
As a tech blog, organic traffic should be my main traffic source and I optimize the contents for better exposure in SERPs. I neither use any keyword research tools nor any SEO plugins. Most of my traffic comes from Google of course and rest are from referral, direct, social etc. Social Media is my new weapon and I’m also getting some handsome
targeted traffic from it. If you use it wisely, you can dramatically improve your stats and build authority among fellow bloggers. Facebook and Twitter are the goldmine of targeted traffic and believe me, you can make wonders from it. Some people will call you a “Spammer” or ”Dumb marketer” .But never matters, spamming is also an art (unless
you ban from the groups/community). But remember, try to decrease the number of promotions in each day and if you made first impression a midst the bloggers, you don’t need to be such spammer again . A single piece of promotion is enough.
Q.4 - How Do You Manage To Keep Hold Of and Make New Loyal Readers Of Your Blog?
Making normal readers to loyal reader is definitely a big piece of cake. it takes time, effort and smart work. As I said above, a tech blog consists 70-80 % organic traffic and turning them to your regular reader is a tedious task. It’s even more harder to make them your loyal readers. It can only be achieved through constant effort and
time. According to me, the best way to make a “visitor” to your ”reader” is respond to their comments. They will feel more comfort and they believe you. They would start visiting your blog daily and the end product is you got some loyal readers. I don’t think I have earned huge loyal buddies but I could make some of the visitors to readers. As it’s (blog) only completed its 3 month, I have lots of time to do the same.
Q.5 - What are Your Revenues From Blogging?
For me, money really matters. So, I’m working hard to get the most of from my blog. I currently use AdSense, paid reviews, affiliates (infant stage) to make money from my blog. I’m learning more and more about affiliate marketing as it’s the most powerful way to make you richer. I don’t know whether it would work well on my blog but I’m
trying my best.I’m also getting some cool offers for ad slots in my blog but I don’t want to make it alive soon. I think I should blog at least 6 month and I will be trying those monetization after the period. I’m currently earning 600-700 $ from TechBii but I’m sure that I can multiple it easily if I get a computer/laptop. Ohh, I forgot to
say that. I’m a mobile blogger who manage the blog completely from my beloved smartphone and not using computer at all except adding screenshots and implementing some widgets. You can read my 3 month blogging journey from here!
